I want to get an air compressor mainly to remove the bolt on tires quickly among the many other uses it has. I need to know is there a certain pressure or size I should get? (As you can tell, I am kind of lost on the subject). Is there anything else that someone could inform me about on air compressors for the specific use I need it for? Any and all info is welcom and helpful. Thanks in advance.

  1. for small jobs or usage once in a while a small compressor is good
i have a 25 litre comressor and it does every thing i want it to do including spraying (ok i have to stop every 20 minutes for about 2 minutes for the pressure to build up again)
dont go a buy an expencive/large compressor as you will be wasting your money and room
also small compressors are easier to move around

  2. you dont need averry big one a smaller twin tank will do you well
and more than 60 psi is a waste

  3. for an impact wrench you need 90+psi .. and compressors are rated in how much air they can move per minuet @ a certain psi … imo look for at least 6cfm and prefferably 11 or so …. the size of the tank determines how often it will cycle and the cfm rating determines how well it will keep up with your tool so you dont have to wait for it to build up pressure …so, if its just for the occasional job around the house a smaller one will do … if its for work and for alot of usage you will want a high cfm compressor.

  4. depends what “other things” you want to do. any sanding or painting you’re going to need a big tank.

anything else i’d wait for a nice sale on something with at least an 8 gall and a good horsepower rating. soon as you figure out stuff it’s good for you’ll wish you had more power

  5. Air requirements of tools you need it for or capacity range of tools (ie impact gun, air sprayer, sander, etc.)
