  1. not to mention that if someone strikes an arc while your helmet is still up, safety glasses will relfect 99% of he radiation.

  2. You will not be welding if a piece of metal hits you in the eye and blinds you !! WEAR SAFETY GOOGLES WHEN GRINDING !!

    Cheers ………..Captain

  3. Nice work. I’d really love to learn how to TIG weld. I have only welded with the MIG/MAG and the MMA weld. I have only used MMA once though but I use the MIG/MAG two days a week when I’m in school. I’m on the industrial program. We will probably learn how to TIG weld in second grade in High School. But now in the first grade it’s just MIG/MAG and MMA. Thanks for the vid.

  4. why arent u using ur rod to start the arc?? and really those welds arent nothin to brag on espcially in the flat position!

  5. Great welds!

  6. When your Tig welding if your welding 2 work pieces together you should still tac weld the ends right???

  7. Very nice welds. Liked it!

  8. Oh your right! I’ll need to be more careful in the future.

  9. Where are his safety glasses?! They quit being not cool to wear when you get shit stuck in your eye. Like hand grinding?!

  10. sweet welding job!!

    A+

  11. you know the deal!

  12. i thought the same thing, turned out i was just blocking the sensor with my hand
    haha

  13. You need to change the sensitivity settings on the controls and make it more sensitive. Also set the shade level to 11. Hope this helps

  14. i have a mask that self darkens. it works well on MIG but it flashes on and off with TIG!? now my eyes hurt!

  15. I was thinking the same but also…would the face mask head band kind of smushes your eye brows down thus making them look kinda mad?

  16. You are grounded. Next time try to be better insulated.

  17. has any one us a thumb control it is so muck beater then the feet pedal. try it out u will like it!!!

  18. u dont need tig gloves for tig welding i dont use them and i do find

  19. The grinding you seen me doing was to remove some burrs from two holes that were drilled at the end of the stick. Not where I was welding. The gloves I had were thin enough for me. If you could see my welds better. You would notice that the oxygen has not gotten to them prematurely showing the neutralization. Thanks for the concern.

  20. Couple mistakes friend: NEVER grind material away from ANY flight control surface. Wire brush ONLY. It obviously weakens it. Second, use TIG gloves to feel what you are doing. Third, leave your (cup) argon flowing on the finished weld a few seconds more and give the metal time to “neutralize”. Not being mean, trying to help since someones life could be at stake.

  21. lol, I liked that comment about welders all looking pissed off. I welded for 5 years and all the welders I knew, including myself, always looked pissed off. Also, welders tend to be pretty hardcore assholes, but that comes with the territory- it’s hardcore work, there is alot of pride involved, and it can get pretty damn competitive. I miss welding!

  22. Hollow, I was going to buy the Ramsond CT520DY 3-IN-1 50 Amp Plasma Cutter + 200 Amp TIG and ARC Welder. Is this any good? Fred
