I was looking online at LED flashlights and some say 9 LED, some say 32 LED, and some say 100 LED. What does the number stand for? Output intensity? I know it does not stand for the quantity of flashlights in that auction because they are all 1 item auctions.

I’m new at buying tools and I usually borrow but now I’d like to buy my own. I really love carpentry and I plan to do quite a bit of projects once I have power tools. I’de like to start out by buying a circular saw and a drill. what brands and types do you recomend that are not to expensive, will do a good job, and will last a pretty long time? and if you can, which brands and types should I stay away from?

A friend of mine let me borrow his surefire led flashlight to take camping. It was awesome. Small, light, tough, very bright and waterproof. I know that surefires are expensive. But are they the best? Are there any other companies that make similar or better LED flashlights?

Cheaper? The main thing I want them to have is to be tough, reliable, bright and waterproof. A lifetime warranty or better would be awesome as well as it seems that most if not all of surefire’s flashlights come with one.

For MIG and Flux core welding, do you need a differently rated shade. We have a # 10, and don’t know how to tell when we could need a darker shade like a 12 for example. Somewhere we read about looking at a bare light bulb to see if you can see the outline of it as an indicator of needing a darker shade. We are just learning about welding and would like to know when an auto darkening system is better and how to pick a good one.

I really don’t understand. They say a big $1000 generator can only run for like 12 hours. Then you got to refill it, and each fill costs like $15??? But obviously you can run the electicity in your car for like months, am I right. And what is it in your car that lets you do that and how much does it cost? So can you buy one of those things seperately and use it for stuff like a small fridge, a tv, heater, so on… instead of a generator because its cheaper and runs longer???
